Places like this exist? In America, there are hardly any abandoned places around. People are too good at finding them and bulldozing/deconstructing them. Which sucks because people like me can't go and explore them. But then again, it's all probably just done for safety...

That is not true, in US there are many great abandoned places, but I guess it depends on state. Maybe take a look uer.ca, many photographers there are from USA
