This is a rare portrait in the fact that it seems to emit your true essence. As a photographer, this is something I always strive for in a portrait- to capture something in a single fraction of a second, that speaks of the entire life of the subject. It's rare and wonderful when one pulls it off!

Actually my boyfriend is the photographer so maybe thats why he was able to "capture" me so easily haha

Big cudos to your boyfriend for that shot! You'll always look back at that shot and remember how/who you were in this time period.
BTW, your paintings also capture the essence of your subjects amazingly well- to me it is harder to do in a painting. The directness of the photograph makes it essentially close to reality, still essence can be illusive. But in painting, it is less about faithfully reproducing every line and detail, and more about that truly illusive pursuit of what is ethereal, elemental and essential. I guess you already know all that very well

I love him but he's definitely the hit and miss type, most are bad but once in a while he get a really, really good one! But I guess thats the essence of photography!
