Description Finished it this morning! I'm a LOT happier with how the colouring turned out with traditional media.

"Hellsing" belongs to Kouta Hirano. Read and watch it!!!

I love the graphic quality of this. The exaggeration of the hands is just great. The white-on-black background is visually striking, so are the splashes of color.

Thank you! I'm very proud of the hands. I always have a hard time drawing hands and these ones came out so wonderfully that I was just beside myself with joy!

Thank you!

Traditional media will always be my first love I took a stab at digitally colouring this, but wasn't exactly thrilled with the results. It was a fun exercise for me and helps keep my digital skills sharp, but when I really want to do a good job with a piece, I always fall back on traditional media.

love the pose, very curvy and surreal.
i wish though that his facial expression were more focused. alucard is usually pretty intense, so you might want to think about having him focus his eyes on the viewer. just a thought.

I agree with you here. The primsacolor version has a better feel then your other digital attempt.
This one has more life to it. Probably due to your closer famaliarity with traditional media techniques.
I feel I need to fav this one also. This is a good lesson of why sometimes tradiotnal media is just better in the coloring department.
You have a more direct indication of what each stroke of color's effect has on the piece, as opposed to a more liberal approach with digital, where you can also "undo."

Great job.

Thank you! I'm most proud of the hands. They used to be a major stumbling block in my art, but I think I've finally got them figured out.

It helps that Kouta Hirano puts gloves on EVERYONE too... makes it easier to draw! And his proportions are rather stylized

Yes! I'm so incredibly excited about the OVA. I know the Japanese release date is December 9, 2005 but I have NO clue when the English version will be available. I dearly hope that Geneon will bring back the original cast... Crispin Freeman at the very least!!

Glad you like it and there'll probably be more. I'm in a "Hellsing" mood lately. I don't usually do fan art, but for some reason I just have this URGE to draw "Hellsing" stuff...
