The colour is much better, guess you now worked with copics or any other alcohol pen? My first drawings were from Witch, too! So loved these comics back then

Ahh! I love you. YOU, I love. To say that, that is, about how you assume I know use copics and alcohol pens.
Nnnnope. Nope, I don't. Too expensive at the moment, and since this is all more of a hobby, really, since childhood, I simply work with what I have or receive as gifts over the years. ^_^'
In this case, crayola thin precision markers or whatever they're called (they're packed away), Roseart thin markers for some areas (since they sometimes bleed too much, and I'm obviously not a big fan of that), and then a mix of crayola colored pencils and Thomas Kinkade special edition colored pencils (in a tin with one of his many many beautiful paintings on the cover ^_^ My fave piece of art utensils, as it was a gift from my now hubby, 3 years ago. And they're still going strong ) to go over my marker and make everything 'pop' a bit more, I suppose, before going into further detail/shade work.
Although I did just recently order/receive a 24 piece tin set of Derwent colored pencils I have yet to seriously use, but am anxious to, so yeah.
It works for ME, anyway, and people seem to like my colored works a lot, so hey. Guess I'm doing SOMETHING right.
Thank you SO much, again!

Yeah, I improvise a lot too with other pencils, if I don't have the right colour among my copics (btw only own about 12 colours) Actually nobody needs to have the best equipment to be a good artist and thanks for your sweet reply <3

Wow, you're colouring has improved a lot, haha. I hope that in 5 years I'll be able to colour like that. For now, I'll just stick to tonal.

(Sorry for the hugely late response!!) Thank you so much for this, really! I don't see anything wrong with YOUR coloring, though, like your Irma drawing.
The ONLY 'complaint' is the scanner, which diminishes your finished piece, because it's so dark. Just fix the settings with that, and it'll be fine, afterward.

Wow!!!When i saw it i was sooo amazed! Don't know how to express it. I just have a lot feeling. May i ask that you were doing for this five years? Cauze it seems like you were doing nothing at all.Sad but truth.

LoL Another one, and evidently friends or friendly with Valkiria123, at that, from her page and watcher list.
Well like I just told her, my 'specialty,' as it were, isn't color based or super small anatomy artwork, so that's just fine if you feel that way. LoL B/W art is my better focus.
Anyhow, I'd say considering there are over 60 faves, plus 29 or so positive comments and feedback along the lines of seeing the improvement by comparison to the first as I do, I'd evidently did something beyond your 'nothing at all.'
So, thanks for your comment too! If you, too, have artwork in your gallery you've done, I'd love to check some out! ^_^

Yeah, hiding spam is not "cowardly", but when did negative opinion became "spam"? I was just saying that i really thought of your improvement, to make you, you know...work harder, not offend you, really.

LoL I don't mind criticism, so long as it's constructive, so your having said:
"~Valkiria123 6 days ago
hell to the no!!! its been 5 years and almost nothing has changed..."
coupled with a 'Sad' emoticon did not honestly strike me as such.
So yeah, it honestly was spam worthy (and dA does auto hiding for that, at least, so I actually didn't personally hide it LoL), as there was zero substance within it.
But, anyhow, I, as well many others, evidently, seem to feel differently than you about this particular piece and can actually see the improvement compared to the first time (which that, had you had said it about I still would've laughed, but also agreed with you). Not to mention I already always make it clear that color art/coloring skills, coupled with smaller anatomy/detail was never my focus, and b/w artwork and bigger portraits and its detail has been my better passion, so don't worry about it. LoL
By comparison to when I first started bothering to do color art more seriously a few years back and to now, um yeah, I'd say it's an improvement. LoL
But anyway, thanks again for your continued concern and care for my artistic well being, hon. If you do, I'd love to see some of your artwork some time!

You're welcome
But I really do think it's an improvement! The hair, the face, the proportion of the body and the waterlily design on her dress is beautiful! And you did it with traditional materials! I think it's the colouring you're not happy about but I sometimes feel that way with my work too so it's alright Colouring has always been my weakness
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Sokai-Sama In reply to LovableLuma [2012-04-08 07:49:52 +0000 UTC]
LoL Well of COURSE (about the coloring) But, no, seriously, by COMPARISON, then absolutely it's a HUGE improvement, since, again, end of '07 and beginning of '08 and on was when I started to attempt serious color art focus, since my forte has always been b/w artwork (as the BIG difference between b/w and color artwork...at least, the color art from the beginning, in my gallery will tell you ~_~ lol).
I guess I'll just always feel that way no matter HOW 'good' my color artwork will get, vs. my 'comfort zone' of b/w works. ^_^
But, anyway, enough babbling! Thank you, again, really, really, for the compliments and personal insight to the 'growth,' my lovely!
You are now my favorite person.

LovableLuma In reply to Sokai-Sama [2012-04-09 09:45:13 +0000 UTC]
I think I'll continue to feel that way too with b/w works- I ruin them with colour; my choice of colour is bad like I end up putting two colours that don't go together and I mess it up.
You're most welcome! ^w^
Ah~ Thank you... >///< And the same goes to you; you've been very kind to me and my gallery
