My first attempt at drawing a Japanese locomotive. Not the most accurate, I'm afraid. But it is one of my favorites. This started out with a photo of an EF65 I downloaded from Wikipedia. One thing led to another and before long, I was drawing this simple, yet historic, engine from Japan.

Depicted here is a custom built variant, the EF65BG, for the Oirat Monggol Linear Line on the planet Neudaiz. Many of these are still in service, the majority of which operate the heritage tours throughout the Mongolian Numan League. They were rebuilt with all modern electric hardware and traction motors and given fresh new and very shiny liveries.

Needless to say, I did pretty well on it, especially the trucks. The trucks weren't too dificult, but did present me a challenge since I had no pre-existing templates to use (I'm rather lacking in locomotives and cars from other countries in general. The only ones I have that I can use in other projects are the TGVs and a handful of other locomotives and trainsets from France's SNCF, all acquired from Michael Eby's Trainiax website.). I had never done trucks from scratch before, so the fact that these came out so well delights me to the fullest. I hope this will delight you too.
