AATM is a drone version of the AAT tank. It doesn't have any crew and is controlled by droid brain. It has the same armament as it`s big brother and additional antipersonal/light AA laser on top of the turret, that can swivel and change elevation independently from the main turret.Intent: to create smaller, lighter, and faster tank for the CIS without sacrificing armament and protection. For this purpose the roomy crew compartment of AAT was removed and replaced with single class 3 or 2 droid brain. Thus weight and overall size of the tank were significantly reduced and many weak spots of original tank removed.
ATTM is 90% compatible with the AAT and can be produced on same plants as original tanks without any significant changes to production lines.
AATM can be transported by any transport, capable of transporting AAT.

You know, I'm surprised the CIS didn't do this from the get-go. I mean there've been several occasions where the AATs got stolen by organic pilots and used against the CIS, sometimes turning the tide of entire campaigns as a result. A strictly droid tanks like this would've been much more logical to avoid this outcome. Alternatively, if it's a matter of cost, then yeah i get why they didn't do the droid tank. Large droid brains get expensive i hear.
