This is pretty nice! I gave 3d work a try once, but failed horribly..

On an unrelated topic, may I ask what kind of airbrush you use? I really want to get one, but I am just unsure of what kind to go with.

I forgot to ask. The Catherine Wheel is a wonderful title. Semantically dense. But I'm in the dark. Are you alluding to something specific?

Very Nice!
Four things:
1) Beautiful composition with mix of curved and straight elements.
2) Fairly monochromatic. What would happen if rendered with more variation in coloration of the different components?
3) What would happen to the surface textures and tone of the work if you rendered 2-3 times as long? I had a debate with another Incendian about the subjective nature of when to stop a render. This stopping point ends with a great textural effect. But others might argue that the "texture" in this piece is simply an indication of impatience....
To be clear, I disagree with the last assertion. A longer render would yield a work with a different, but not better, feel. Do you even consider such aspects when you decide when a work is "done'?

Hello Mike, Thanks for kindly giving some of your time to my work. Highly appreciated!
A fairly monochromatic work because I want more attention directed to the many and complex forms. Also the Catherine wheel I see here is the medieval one, the wooden wheel of torture.
I did not want to render more because all the transparencies were dissipating. This is a 30 hour render with 11 bmp tests to find out clearly when to stop the render. If I give a full render to this piece it would be a magnificently perfect strange thing that will bore you to death. The Catherine wheel is the first Incendia work where I use a wacom tablet to define shapes, create textures and organize planes or layers.

Circular motion, wooden colorS, sharp edges, soft waves like satin clothes revolting and St. Catherine...gone.
