n Hindu mythology, a Garuda is a lesser Hindu divinity, usually the mount (vahanam) of Vishnu. Garuda is depicted as having a golden body, white face, red wings, and an eagle's beak, but with a man's body. He wears a crown on his head. He is ancient and has size enough to block out the sun.

I just realized, looking at this, how cool it would have been if giger had illustrated myths and ideas from a wider range of sources, like ancient buddhism/hinduism for instance...I mean, giger is a total master and a artist who defines his own era, but it would have been nice to see him do some different things. I like what you've done here for that reason, it seems to take things in a new direction. I hope you do more of this nature. No one has yet been able to really carry on the whole realm of art that giger created, at least not to my limited knowledge, in a fresh direction...

This is lovely! Despite your comparison to Giger (and I realize that) it has a weirdly different feel, maybe a bit more organic. Cool work...
