Description Once I asked of the earth:

From where dear mother
came thy beauty?
It ends not forever.
Thy flowers and trees
leave infinite memories;
The mighty sea
adds to thy divinity
when sadness befalls us
you comfort us with tears of rain
and happiness shines upon us
when thy sun rises at dawn.
Even the beasts declare your wonder;
the wolves howl to the light of the moon
when thou be in despair or gloom;
the winged free soar as kings
when they use thy winds to spread their wings.
All thy beauty is wonderful to see,
where did all these come from mother
where did it come from?

The earth then spoke to me:

I will now ask thee, my son,
Where does thy question come from?
