Yeah I have seen the picts of that hot toys action figure that looks amazing ! ^_^Β
But it's some kind of product that don't really interest me. I would not buy such pre-painted stuff ! And OMG, the big weak point is (as always with action figures... ) the ugly articulations junctions... ! Β For me it's OK on mechas but not for "humanoids" figures...Β Β
I have seen on the hot-toys prototype picts that the face is very close to the game, maybe more than the kit I have... but honestly, the armor and all the other details are very similar and I think that it is possible to have the same render with a diligent painting job because the resin kit and the figure have also the same 1/6 scale..

Definitely! The final painted photos of the resin kit Ive seen were not up to scratch compared to Hot Toys paintjob but you are absolutely right,.. it is all down to the painter. Hot Toys are so expensive that you are 100% get your money worth in quality and painstakingly detailed paint apps but it is still done by a an artist and what one person can do so can others.
and yeah Hot Toys articulation varies from figure to figure. Some are amazing and some are no more than static statues almost. Raiden by the looks of it is not well articulated just like the Medicom MGS4 Raiden wasn't in the past. It's all the suit and armor on top of him hindering joints movement. Still... some articulation is better than non in my opinion

Yep Hot toys are pretty expansive and honestly my pleasure is more the painting job itself than owning the figure.
Something is really disturning me too, I meen the cloths with real fabric...
I hope that you will be able to get this Raiden anyway ! ^_^

The base looks nice like this but it looks very disproportionate comparing the figure itself. (I mean a lot too small !
I had some similar ideas but I don't have the skills to sculpt an enemy soldier like that... The spine may be easier to make anyway...
