I know I posted a short comment earlier, but really, this is amazing. I love the effects of the lighting on the fur and the hair, and his expression really pulls it together.

This is a commission, innit? So maybe, this Colson person wanted his character drawn in that pose.
I've never seen so many people get worked up over a reference. You all try looking me, or anyone as a matter of fact, and tell us to our faces that you have never, not in your entire life, used a reference.
Mother of God, are you people missing out on life so much that you have to spend all day bashing DDs to compensate? I was unaware of the reference when I suggested this, and even if I did, it still wouldn't have changed the outcome. Sure, he should have credited the original pose, but yet so should we all. Yeah, let's try to find every model stock photo or Google image that you've used to draw something. Let's pretend that your shrunken, narrow-minded brains are imaginative enough to come up with your own awesome poses.
I never thought that comments on deviantART were getting closer in relation to comments on youtube, but after today, I fear that it is becoming true. Some of you people disgust me.

I really dont understand why every one is so bent over that other picture....tons of pictures have the same pose, where are you bitchin when those happen?! The shirt is different n hes leaning against the other side. Its awesome work, fantastic work. If it bothers you so much, and you think they look so much alike how can you not see how different they are?!?! I agree it might have been an influence but like i said, come on people, its an animal, leaning to the other side, wearing a different shirt....morons...

It's actually been flipped, if you look at the wrinkles in the shirts they're exactly the same. [link] I think he partially traced it and freehanded the rest, that's a possibility.

they USED A REFERENCE they did not "rip it off". it's a perfectly fine thing to do. now, if the artist had traced over the photo, it would be wrong, but they clearly didn't. so yeah.

I've actually begun to think they did trace, I overlayed the two pics and the folds in the shirt are exactly the same, among other weird similarities. >>;

Obviously the pose has been referenced but it hasn't been traced because they man in the photo is a human and the picture is an animal.
