So I have been using an old ripper to extract some MGS2 models, as the Solidus tool is a pain to use since you spend a long time going through all the files just to find the model and it's many textures. The old 3dx ripper I used bunches all those many little textures in to one or two big textures. Anyway these are some static models that you guys can have for rigging if you wish to rig them to XNAlara or the new XPS. Just give credit to me for extracting them. So have fun and hope to see someone who can rig these, rig them.Link: (Link is down unless I redo the rips or find a back up as Dropbox lost links and changed hosts.)

It's not impossible though. Just challenging. I could use the old solidus tool but searching for the models in the mgs2's files is like looking for a needle in a hay stack really. Hence I use 3dx ripper as it rips the model and merges all the little textures in to one. So when I get time I will try to rip Rose.

There could be one out there but like I said when I get a moment with mgs2 I'll see what else I can get.

I can't ever thank you enough, should you get to do that.
I am all excited about the upcoming mgs already- floating in nostalgia because I want to do some mgs2.

i loaded snake into the program but he appeared super HUGE!! where exactly is the problem?

That's cause his model is huge. He is nto rigged or anything, hence he i static and needs rigging and resizing before he can work in XPS.

how about you send a request for sticklove.deviantart.com/ or moogleoutfitters.deviantart.co… to rig them for ya? these guys make models as far as i know.

that's really cool, thanks, that's just i was looking for to examine the wireframes topology and textures ... it's also tempting to try and rig them ...

Yeah I saw. But un-posing "I" posed models is hell plus they still have like 20 individual textures that need to be applied to the models right? Where as the rips I have done have all those individual textures bunched in to one or two big textures. So saves a heck of a lot of time texturing the models.

I'm working on getting him. Need to cpture the model with the ripper at the right angle to get a decent rip of him.

It really is quite a shame that they didn't release the models publicly. Would have done wonders for the MGS fan work community. I'll keep dreaming I suppose.
