I was asked to make another entry for Druvdalens MLP calendar, this time for 2011, and the month left was april.I'm not sure if they will use it or not, I know many people get depressed by rain. personally I think spring rain
is something special, at least that first spring rain, it has a certain wondeful scent to it, scent of spring!
I haven't been drawing baby Lickety split and Spike since I saw my little pony the movie as a child, so I thought
now was a great time to draw them again AND to start developing how to draw baby ponies.
Anyway, here they are, enjoying that rain who smells like spring, a good promise from nature itself that things have turned.
(In sweden where I live seasons are a big deal)

Spike sure did put up witha lot of abuse fromΒ Baby Lickety splitΒ in the movie. In the cartoon series she almost destroyed Ponyland by wishing onΒ a magic coin that it'd never rain again, her wishΒ and caused aΒ drought. Still,Β really nice art with her and spike dancing in the rain.

Oh yes, that's right. I had forgotten she was in the cartoon series! But she seemed so different there compared to the movie, I don't think I thought of them as the same character XD
(Maybe I thought the tooth made the difference? XD)

What's funny is, the comics make the one with the tooth a different character. They're cousins. Who have the same name and look exactly alike but for the tooth.

I have read far to few of the original comics, they where never sold in my town *sad face*

There's a tumblr called heckyeahponyscans with many G1 comics and always adding more. Some of the stories can be very trippy. Also, it's cool to see the characters who only appeared once or twice in the show get more appearances, like the Rescue at Midnight Castle gang.
Also, some of the Tales and G3 ones. There are some interesting points like... in the comics, G3 Dash is soΒ much like FIM Dash minus the wings. Adventurous and competitive, one time she and Sunny Daze (I think) were having a sledge race and Dash ends up on a steeper hill, going out of control, and smashing into a house headfirst. Everyone runs to help her but when she stands up, she's just happy that this hasΒ to mean she's the winner.
And in Tales, there's a reference to meeting the Glow 'n' Show Ponies in one story. Meanwhile, in the G1 comics... we meet the Glow 'n' Show Ponies!Β And a very vague reference to their origin that means there's a realΒ chance that the mysterious place the Tales versions come from is actually the G1 land.

This one is Lickety split, but she and Cotton Candy resemble each other a lot.
