Description
So I decided to join this silly little bandwagon and make my OC appear 5 years later as well!!! Since the new movie is 5 years later from the first movie (which is TECHNICALLY the time Collin shows up.) I thought it would be fun to see exactly how Collin would turn out in his young adult years. FOR SOME REASON THE OLDER MY BOYS GET THE LONGER THEIR HAIR GETS PFF!! (idk why but as adorable as Collin looked with his short shaggy hair, he's a stud with the back pony tail ;D)

After some long contemplation I came to the conclusion that Collin wouldn't continue fighting after his experiences in Berk. He was a skilled swordsman because of his Uncle's training but it was never something he intended to pursue as a career choice. It was more of a necessity of survival considering where he came from and how he was brought up. He still enjoys a spar from time to time and loves being praised for his skills, but ultimately I just couldn't imagine him continuing down that road the rest of his life. It sounded far too boring. So in the future Collin becomes a scholar. His brush with Berk and the dragon riders convinces him there are strange and exciting things in the world that needs to be documented, lessons that need to be remembered. He reads up everything that comes his way and memorizes almost everything at the same time. He's written several documents himself, mostly cataloging foreign plants and animal life, some are stories of the adventures from his time spent in Berk.

I'd imagine he doesn't stay in Berk. Eventually he HAS to go back home, but that doesn't mean he can never go back or doesn't decide to stick around for a little while. After returning home for a couple years he makes a round about trip back to visit Berk (this time in mid spring rather than the dead of winter like how he first arrived) and spends several seasons training with new riders. Along the way he acquires his own little companion, a lazy runt sized Monstrous nightmare who never grows much bigger than the size of a medium sized dog. He never names it, only refers to it with pet names like 'lazy thing' or 'flab butt' or other silly names. Though it never seems to listen to his commands it recognizes when it's being talked to and is surprisingly loyal and sympathetic when Collin really needs it. He spends much of his time laying around Collin's study and perches on his shoulders or clings to his back when Collin heads out to town. He hates being 'held' but hates being left alone as well.

His attire and colors are still very similar to when he's a kid MOSTLY because the region he lives in has little access to more vibrant colors aside from his signature red cloak and a few gold embellishments here and there. He has no real need for armor or flying gear anymore as he generally chooses to remain on the ground but he dresses much warmer when he comes to visit his friends in the northern islands and has taken up battle paint when it's time for the dragon games!

All in all, Collin becomes much calmer and friendly as he matures and far more open to new ideas than he used to be. I'd imagine his new found laziness will undoubtedly turn him into a viking sausage later in years but for now he's retains his thin, youthful physique with steadily strong growing chin which bring him MUCH attention (and though he's not particularly looking for anyone to settle down with just yet he's enjoying every bit of the attention he receives and rubs it in Snotlout's face every chance he gets)

I had so much fun drawing this. I miss drawing Collin and thinking up silly scenarios to piss him off. Technically this is a fantasized version of what Collin WOULD become later in life. His story technically takes place roughly 4-5 years after the first movie anyway which would put Collin at age 16 while everyone else would be 18-20 years of age. So despite how tall he is he's actually a baby compared to everyone else and is treated very much like one by the ladies in the bunch hahaha XD (I'm not sure why I made it out that way. I don't think it was the intention at first. In my story he was only about a year or two younger than the others but if you follow with the second movie's time line then he'd actually be about 5 years younger. either way this was lots of fun to make and maybe in the future I'll play around more with his outfit 8D)
