I forgot to mention, I would like the icon to be available in both .ico format (maximum available resolution being whatever the highest icon resolution is that format can support) & Portable Network Graphics format (maximum resolution of 512 by 512)

Something identical to the default Half-Life 1 Desktop icon, but with a superscript "1" on the top-right corner, in the style of the Half-Life 2 icon.

There are many variations of the HL icons out there..
Just to clarify: you want it to look like this: [link] with it saying 1 instead of 2 in the top corner?

look at my gallery.. i make one type of icons. will not create something that looks like a games default icon.
