Here we go!I've been wanting to cosplay from Sailor Moon ever since I first started watching the show. I can remember vaulting off the headboard of my mother's bed, pretending I was protecting the world from evil with my next door neighbor.
But I never thought I'd get around to doing it! The costumes still need work, but it was so nice to actually be able to wear the costume this Youmacon. After how much time the girls and I put into these costumes and how much frustration we had with them....ugh.

since when does Jupiter where braided pigtails? and where is Mars' tiara? I mean the cosplays are good an all but there are some minor flaws.

jupiter has a curled ponytail, and my tiara is slightly obscured by my wig. if you look hard enough you can kind of see it. things look a little weird because we're laying down is all. if you're gonna pick on the flaws at least pick on actual flaws

The arrangement and costumes are amazing! I do wish you had taken this photograph outside in a garden somewhere though, or set up something with crazy fabric with sparkles to look like something from the art books. That carpet doesn't do the rest of the effort justice.

Oh man. I WISH we could have done that....
But Youmacon is in the middle of Downtown Detroit in November. It's wicked cold out and right by the lake so doing anything outside is a total no go. (not to mention there aren't even any gardens around) and the Security Guards at then Ren Cen are super weird about taking photos. If you look too "professional" they tell you that you have to stop shooting. They were telling our friend Ari she had to stop because she had a nice camera and a beauty dish...and she's just a cosplayer who likes to take photos! Ugh.
Hopefully we'll be able to do something nicer at Katsucon! C:

Ha, reminds me of being kicked out of the movie theater after showing up early for Star Wars, for being a "fire hazard". Some people don't really get why certain rules are there. Better luck next time!
