Here we go!I've been wanting to cosplay from Sailor Moon ever since I first started watching the show. I can remember vaulting off the headboard of my mother's bed, pretending I was protecting the world from evil with my next door neighbor.
But I never thought I'd get around to doing it! The costumes still need work, but it was so nice to actually be able to wear the costume this Youmacon. After how much time the girls and I put into these costumes and how much frustration we had with them....ugh.
Cosplaying girls is still weird though

Excellent shot! The colors are vivid. Also, not trying to be mean, but this photo isn't true to the anime. Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter are wearing their super Senshi outfits from season 4, but Sailor Moon is wearing her seasons 1 to 3 outfit. But I love the picture though!

Moon here XD yeahhhhh my friends all did the super versions and I only had regular Moon done and ready so far. I will be making the super version for Katsu con or ACEN or something along that. but for now my friends were just so wonderful to let me be apart of a few photos with them but yes thank god they got photos with just them so I didnt have to feel too bad about ruining that accuracy part. but even so these photos are so pretty and fun and it was a childhood dream especially to do it with amazing friends since its a sentimental series to me!!!! but yeah XD thats why. I need to remake my boots too. hated those.

If you are going to point out "flaws" at least get your facts right. Sailor Moon S (Supa or Super) is Season 3 not season 4 and is where all the Senshi gain their Super Sailor transformation and new Super Sailor Power. Sailor Moon's Brooch matches this cosplayer's for seasons 1 and 2 then changes to a heart-shaped one in season 3. Not to mention that if you look between the Manga and Anime things are slightly different and different still are various works of art Naoko Takeuchi used to create the Artbook. These cosplayers have done a fabulous job embodying their Senshi of choice and I know great care and thought went into their costumes. You might check yourself next time because 'bitch' isn't a good color on you.

Sorry, but actually, the Inner Scouts become super Sailors in Season 4, not 3. Didn't you watch the episode where Pegasus gives the Inner Senshi new crystal rods?
Sailor Moon becomes a temporary super Sailor in Season 3 with her Crisis Chalice, but a permanent super Sailor in Season 4. I really loved the photo though!!

Oh Man you got me!! To make my point I'll share with you this site that has scans of the artbook, specifically this link to scans from the 3rd book (Sailor Moon Super) [link]
You can see in some pictures the Super transformation by all, some, none, and even just Moon. Nothing in this show is consistent from one medium to another. Pointing out something so "obvious" and trying to cover it up with "No offense" is essentially saying, "I am going to point something out that you probably know and is going to be offensive but don't be offended because I prepared you for it with this statement." It would make more sense to just leave it at "This is a lovely picture" unless critique is requested, which it was not.

it's pretty insulting to the cosplayers, who put a lot of time and effort into these costumes. it's not like we specifically planned with the sailor moon, but she happened to be cosplaying sailor moon for this con and we wanted photos with her because she's our friend. just try to keep that in mind before you make comments next time. if you have to say "not to be mean", maybe it's best to keep it to yourself

Not really...They did previous shoots before I was in any pictures. they just included me later because they are wonderful friends who care and because i didnt sew super sailor moon yet. I will be getting it done soon. but for now they took a few with me. and I was honored to do it with them. it was very sentimental!!!!! ;______; this is the whole reason i started cosplaying ...this show!

Saying that it's "just an opinion" to justify insulting these girls isn't okay. And yes what you said was in fact an insult. If these girls wanted to disrespect the show, it would have been clear as day. Things that are meant to disrespect often end up insulting a lot of people. So next time you decide to "have an opinion" that you know isn't a compliment, keep it to yourself unless you're asked to critique.

I think just cosplaying a character from a show that you love, shows enough respect. Friends getting to cosplay together from a show they love. That is the greatness of cosplay. Not having everything completely spot on all the time.
