A friend asked me how Zuko would change the image of the Fire Nation to the world's eyes, and suddenly, an obvious answer kind of just conked me on the head. Change your image...by changing your image (duh). New fashions, new uniforms (for the soldiers, especially), to give people a physical reminder of the difference between the Fire Nation of the past and the Fire Nation of the present!

Hence why Zuko gets a new wardrobe, rather than the pointy Fire Nation robes (that I secretly despise...which was the true motive behind the image change...).
