History

Births
Mao was the firstborn of the happy Atsuko couple, a uncommon combination of chocolate colored skin and cream colored hair, they were proud to have birthed such a healthy baby boy.
A year later they gave birth to another healthy young male, yet with a even more rare combination of red hair, blue eyes, fair skin and freckles.

Brotherly Competition
Growing up Mao was technically the oldest, yet he seemed to have to constantly compete with his brother wither it was on schoolwork, social life, etc.
Which was mainly due to eavesdropping on conversations now and then of being compared to his considerably handsome brother.
His brother on the other hand disliked the fact people would compare them now and then, yet Mao wouldn't give that a reason of why he wouldn't try to be better than his brother at any angle.
Due to trying to better his brother he would often isolate himself into studying/practicing at whatever his brother had excelled him at, which lead to him being a loner during his middle school years.

Brotherly Bond
During the near end of middle school, however, his brother decided to coax him to leave the whole 'competitive mode' behind him by taunting him of what he excelled far past his little Mayo(nickname), being social, being a good swimmer, and the ability to take up hobbies and relax.
Taunted, Mao decided he'd let his brother teach him his 'ways'... long story sort, Mao ended up dating a girl who liked his brother, drowning during swimming lessons, and taking up weird hobbies like supernatural study.
Another long story short, Mao realized the girlfriend liked his brother and ended up breaking up, he also got saved by his brother while drowning, and his brother got him to get into anime/manga and video games as other hobbies.

Parent's Divorce
A year or so later, the summer break before the first year of high school for Mao and the last year of middle school for his brother , their parents had gotten a divorce after their mother found out their father was cheating on her.
After that life went on, their mother grew to take on the hobby of getting drunk every night and the boys were the ones who carried her to her room each time.
Soon school started up again, without his brother Mao went to his first year of high school, by the end of the year he passed with A's and B's.

Unhealthy Competition
Second year of high school, Mao's brother joined in his school as a first year, and the comparing once again struck his mind when Mao realized his brother was excelling at everything before him.
When did he become so talented? Mao felt his ego deflate and determined to get it back he began working harder than before, hardly taking any breaks to constantly get A's, once again being the better brother.
Suddenly, overtime Mao began getting sick by the stress he was under, before he knew it he was bedridden in the nearest hospital.

Who's at fault?
"Clearly this is my brother's fault..." He'd think to himself, anger filling his chest as he got the news that he was being held back a year to recover from his illness. "I wish he never existed... thanks to him I've always had to run to the spotlight..." He thought to himself daily when he had nothing else to do, yet his brother would always come in everyday to bring him new manga, to watch anime with him, or even to study up on the super natural.

Despite his brother's kind gestures Mao continued to despise his brother he had always competed against... until one day, he suddenly disappeared.
A few weeks or even a few days before Mao went back to school to repeat his second year, he noticed that his brother stopped coming to visit him at the hospital, he noticed he stopped texting him with random pictures, he just... stopped.

It was almost as if he disappeared.

His brother disappeared along with the first class.
His brother bought him the anime pillow backpack as a joke, it's of a trap(guy that looks like a girl) character from their favorite anime.
The black jacket is his brother's, Mao often sniffs it.
He's often mistaken as a girl for his slightly feminine looks.
He wants a pet but his mom says they can't afford it.
His room is black and white and looks like a satanic basement.
He carries around teabags and puts them under his eyes when his dark undereye circles get big.
