I’m not sure why, but as I was playing WarioWare Gold recently, I kinda have completely fallen in love with Ashley and her simple design??? She isn’t really my type of character nor does she have my to-go to color palette. But for some reason, I found her immensely cute and I just wanted to draw her asap! ;-;

Her hair was quite challenging to figure out because I wanted to stay faithful to its original design in the games while still managing to add my own twist to it and shape more detail through. Shading it was a whole new world of experimenting as I tried to make the blacks look more alive, and I believe that it all worked out nicely in the end by using cool tones for the shadows and warm golden tones near the highlights! This inspired the background, which I struggled a lot with initially when I was trying to figure out how to design it in a way that would suit the dark & witchy theme of the work. The sparkles were one of the successful experiments that I thought were NECESSARY for this dark piece to look bright and come to life (like how I like to draw stuff!)

Anyways, I really hope you like my take on her!
