Description
Etna is a character from a video game called Disgaea. I made her as a gift for my girlfriend but I was supposed to make her in the outfit she wore in Disgaea 2 lol. That's another project for another day. Enjoy!I used a clear Emma Frost. Free sculpted pretty much everything with Aves Apoxie sculpt; hair, head wings, boots and all. Gave her breast reduction and a whole repaint job by hand. The tail is flexible. I made it using one of those twisty ties that bind toys to the packaging. The skirt is made from foam sheet. The bracelets and the ring that hangs around her neck collar are not attatched so they can freely move.

i'm grateful to have seen this. I must also get into the habit of sculpture that way i can always make models. I want to make a few to practice drawing anatomy and start making characters to paint and stuff. I curious on the mediums and tool you use, are there any supports inside? do you bake the clay before you paint? I've used sculpty and it falls apart easy i don't know if i use it right.....

Haha srry, late reply. Been on a DA sabbatical. I use polymer clay (sculpey, premo, etc) but I mostly use the hard kind wich is hard to knead at first but keeps it's shape for the most part. I do use wire or foil as a base or skeleton and bake piece by piece. I don't sculpt all at one then bake. A heat gun is a very useful tool and you can find them pretty cheap. Not sure if you have a Harbor Freight store around your area but you can pretty cheap stuff there. For tools, I use those wooden tools used for pottery and clay. You can find them at art stores easily. I don't really draw anything out before I sculpt but it can help if you do. The clay should get cured before you paint on it. Paint can and cannot be a big issue. For action figure customs I use acrylic model paints like Vallejo and Citadel. Paints like those go on pretty smooth and stick well. For static figures, I would use the cheap acrylic paints sold at stores like Michaels.

Customs in general or Etna? Etna took me about 3 days. Customs vary depending on the character and what i would have to do to make it i want it to be
