hahaha this is magnificent.
the way the phrase (the trouble with) is cut and reversed really reflects the often overwhelming sense of idiocy when it comes to machinery and technology; in fact it reminds me of the language of instruction manuals, and how they are almost universally unintelligible. (more on the troubles of technology in Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance; have you read it?)
the owl's eyes are very interesting; on one hand they imply that you have to be as clever as an owl to even use the machine (+ irony because the woman is just pressing a button), but then again it can also be seen as a silly mask, as though the woman were making fun of herself and the situation she's in.
also hilarious is the other woman vacuuming the oven, it looks so totally improper and that's the whole point.
