I have plans to get the shot i want this year,my wife suggested setting up overlooking some roadkill ..

Ooo, that's a good idea

The ones that visit my garden also like bread and fatty things (fat balls, suet pellets etc), so having a few of those on hand may entice them too

It's nice to find someone who thinks they're great birds too! We have at least 7 that visit our garden, 5 of which do so on a daily basis! They're such characters!

I'm not one for plugging some of my other images in comments like this, but if you like magpies I thought you may like this pic if you haven't already seen it [link] ; it's the only other decent magpie pic I've taken and I think brings out the cheekiness of the bird!

I wish there were magpies where I live. And I wish I had a garden to watch them if they were here...
Magpies are my fav birds, alongside with owls, ravens and blue jays.

I did see it, but just as thumbnail, but when I clicked it now, I saw it is very cool too!! Thanks for sharing

Aww, no, that sucks Owls and ravens are lovely too! We don't get any blue jays over here though
