I am a man
You are a woman,
We could breed,
Procreate our species,
And do our job as human beings,
Wait.
Too simplistic,
It works for nature yet not for man,
The complications of romance, meant to enrich lives,
Or to deprive companionship,
From the humans that reject to play the fragile game of love,
I’d rather stay in my shell, than jump through hoops,
A shaky stand of pride and principle,
From a man who stands on shaky ground.
Told he will always be alone with this attitude,
But it’s all I have left, a principle which shreds the soul,
Oh so gently
And painfully,
Maybe I will always be alone,
Maybe the only warmth I’ll ever feel,
Is from a 9mm lead pill,
However, I still stand, and wish for,
Understanding and companionship,
It’s so sad too see through your own naïve nature,
I accept the path I walk, but I still can resent it.
Complexity does thrive.
