Hey look! It's a familiar face!

Apollina Butterfly grew up in a time of chaos, as she was daughter of Queen Pleione the Destroyed. Due to her mother's uncontrollable magic ruining the world outside of Butterfly Castle, Apollina was awarded the wand much too early, at age ten. After that, she began to spend most of her time in the Magical Archives, wanting to become the most brilliant queen in Mewni's history. After reading through each of the past queen's personal spell books, Apollina was hungry for more. She wanted the kind of power her mother had, but she also wanted to be able to control it. So she broke into the Queen's Only Section to read the personal journals of the queens at age 16. There she read the works of Serenity the Oracle. Safe to say...Apollina learned some things that she didn't want to.

Later on in her life she would marry Sir Gordon Crow, only with the intention of creating an heir. Her daughter, Calva the Cruelest would go on to rule Mewni with an iron fist, all while Apollina stayed locked in her study, trying to find the answers to all of her questions.

Apollina may have been good at heart, but she was still a terrible queen. She cared less about her subjects and more about becoming the most powerful being to ever pass through Mewni's throne.
