Sapphire brought them into her brightly decorated living room, and they all sat down on the couch.
"I'm glad you came here when you did!" she addressed all of them. "I've heard stories about how many ponies the Cutie Mark Crusaders have helped, and was hoping I could ask you for some."
"Really?" Sweetie Belle asked. "What kind of help do you need?"
"Well, I've recently started seeing someone really nice. His name is Cool Carapace, and he has this amazing collection of seashells."
"Okay, so what's the problem?"
"Well, he's under the impression that I have a Cutie Mark."
"What?" Apple Bloom was very interested now. "Are you saying what think you are?!"
Sapphire pulled back her skirt to reveal a flank as bare as a foal's.
Rarity gasped. "How did I not know this about you?! I mean, I made all those dresses for you! Surely I would've seen at some point!"
"Well, you did always get kinda lost in the dressmaking."
Rarity chuckled. "Oh, yeah. Whoopsie."
"How have you not gotten a Cutie Mark yet? I mean, you're the Pony of Pop!"
"I only started that because my parents made me. Deep down, I've always wanted to do something else, but I never knew what. I would've quit at the first chance I got, but I became too big of a name!"
"Well, just leave it to us!" Apple Bloom said, beginning to pull a large sheet of paper out of her saddlebag.
"Girls, don't you remember what we always taught you about Cutie Marks?"
All three of them recited, " 'Your Cutie Mark will appear when you realize who you are, not by doing a bunch of things.' "
Apple Bloom put away the sheet. "So I guess that means no chart."
Rarity nodded, then turned to Sapphire. "So, is there anything you really like?"
"Well, I've always had an admiration for the ocean. I met a dolphin when I was three, and we became friends almost instantly. Every morning, we'd play in the water together, find abandoned nicknacks in the shallows, and just have fun until lunchtime. But then one day, the dolphin didn't come. Then the same thing the next day. And the day after that. The dolphin never came back. I was sad, but I got over it with some support from mom."
Sweetie Belle sniffled, holding back tears. "That story was so sweet, and so sad..."
"So you like dolphins, huh?" Apple Bloom asked, while Scootaloo started concocting a plan.
"Oh yeah!" Rarity exclaimed, "I remember that from the headdress incident!"
Sweetie Belle blushed. "I'd forgotten about that one..."
Scootaloo sat up. "I've got it! I know just what we need to do!"
