Description Okay, alright! This was my very first picture with a background. I was surprised by how quick I got this done (about 2 hours), and I think it turned out rather well. I know that I neglected to do any shading on the hills in the background, but that was because I was finishing this up close to my bedtime, and did not want to stay up longer to finish it. Oh well. I'll just redo this one again when my art skills improve down the way.

If you're wondering how I got the idea for a medieval aesthetic Spider-Man, it was actually really simple: Marvel Knights. I've always been a huge fan of Marvel comics, and I just thought to interpret the name of that particular superhero team literally. I know that it probably should have been Daredevil, or Black Widow, or Moon Knight in this picture, but Spider-Man stuck out to me because he's my brother's favorite Marvel hero.

Some notes about how I chose this design. The way I imagine Peter's origin this time is that he competed in a hastlitude while wearing the colors and symbol of his family coat of arms, during which Uncle Ben is killed by a marauding bandit. Using the weapon he chose to specialize in (grappling hook), he catches the killer and sees that it's the same guy he let go by him, because he thought he was on his way to being a big-shot defender of the kingdom.

Now, some of you are probably wondering about the grappling hook. The reason that was chosen was because I thought it made a little more sense than web-shooters in a medieval setting. I did give some serious thought to giving Peter a background as a medieval chemist, but I could only think that he would create some sort of flask full of paste that would work like Scarlet Spider's impact webbing. You know, he needed to be able to swing around. I also did think of giving him some bolas on his belt (the belt's under his tunic. You just cant' see it), but again I didn't want to stay up any later than I had to, and I really wanted to post this by the next morning.

If by some off chance that the guys at Marvel catch wind of this and want to make a whole series based on it, my mind would blow. But, let's think realistically here. Still, that would be something. Anyhoo, I'm out of here. Enjoy yourselves \m/
