I had this story idea a few months ago where Fives is back on Kamino, and he finds Echo's old phase one armor in a closet (or someplace he could've hidden it from the Kaminoans ). Anyway, Fives gets nostalgic and starts remembering the good times, and thinks of how much he misses Echo. Then he would've told the helmet of his adventures, acting as if Echo were in the room with him.

I guess he could've done this in the second episode of the Lost Missions, before he was 'quarantined'.

Since he is in a closet, the picture is very shadowy and dark (and I think that's how Fives felt after the Citadel, kind of dark and gloomy). Poor guy has been through a lot.
