Incredible. I'm sure Chell felt fear and anticipated something really BAD. Like testing to no end, or neurotoxin, or shooting turrets....
But GLaDOS just let her go. Even when killing Chell wasn't hard - how hard can it be, killing half-dead unconsicious human? She hid her feelings well, she faked deleting Caroline but her actions prove otherwise.

Hmm, maybe so. I've never thought of her faking the deletion of Caroline.
But some people theorize that, due to the very Greek themes present, the wheat field at the very end symbolizes heaven, and Chell was killed by the turrets. Y'know, before they started singing.
But if Caroline was still there, that probably wouldn't have happened. I like that better than Chell-death. :>

It's rubbish if you'll ask me. GLaDOS wouldn't bother to kill her with turrets, she had many unused opportunities (let her go to space, kill her unconscious, smash her in elevator with plates, even bomb the elevator!).
About faking... well, she faked cake, she lied about party, she lied about cube, she lied about practically everything! And even after this someone believed to another fake message? I mean, seriously!

Well that's the thing. At that point Chell is almost in space and unconscious, Glados was still Caroline. When she's Glados-sans-Caroline, she can kill Chell...
Speaking of, all of Glados's lies were in order to torture Chell. The fact that the last, bitchiest thing she could think of doing would be to delete Chell's mother is a bit hilarious. I'm still not totally sold on the whole lie theory, but I'll give it some more thought. :>

No-no-no, why everyone thinks she even CAN delete Caroline? How could you delete yourself? I mean, GlaDOS is grown up and amnesiac Caroline, like I am grown up from my 12-year self. I can still remember what I felt like 12-old and what I wanted, but I'm not him... and I'm still him. Damn, my English is bad, did you understand what i'm trying to say? GLaDOS just remembered herself-Caroline when she was human: her affection to Cave Johnson, her long forgotten memories etc.
And talking about bitchiest things... forcing her to stay and test FOREVER (what she did not) seems MUCH more butchiest for me.

This is just amazing. I love how GLaDOS' "eye" is sooo intense on Chells' face. So amazing.
