I had a sister-in-law in ethe mainstream modelling business...
as far as I could notice she had been brainwashed by that enviroment.
she and her skinny colleagues had this annoying obssession on loosing weight (and loosing their curves in the process).
she even refused to take off her shirt at a lake cause she was "fat"!!! (damn, she's the skinniest creature I've ever seen!)
not to mention the fact that they're all junkies... and - to quote trainspotting - they would certainly do Vitamin C if that was illegal...
not really a glamour atmosphere behind the cameras...

the color scheme was perfectly chosen here... the background color enhances a lot her pale skin.
her pose and and facial expression are really gorgeous.
you can't go wrong with apnea, but this shot is more than mindblowing.

they are just average women with too much make up, piercing or tattos and fake
hair. there are exceptions though.

Forgive me for saying it, but isn't it better to shoot normal, average women than "modelesque" ones? Most people critique photographers for choosing models that are too perfect. I like a photograph to reflect real life, myself...

world, it is incomparable with fetish modelling.

I wouldn't say so. My sister is a mainstream model, so I know a lot about it.
& I'm friends with a couple of fetish models, too, so I know a lot about that.
It's not too different, really. Yes, it does have it's differences - obviously.
Otherwise they'd be exactly the same thing. It is not, however, completely different.

one more question: as far as i understood your point - their main aim is to shock people with their appearance? From my personal experience, the shocking appearance simply protects their inner self from outside world. They are, as you mentioned, ordinary ppl with common problems, common complex, common fears. Aggressive appearance is a way to protect, defend themselves.
