Introducing Contest #3:: Sonic Club Classic Contest!
Contest 4 has finally launched! Was the wait too long? Celebrating Sonic’s birthday this month, the theme chosen for this contest would like you to explore or revisit Sonic’s roots. It’s fairly simple: for your picture to be eligible in the competition, all it has to contain is something that characterize Sonic’s Classic era. (As in pre-Sonic Adventure) Now… this seems very restricted, but it’s actually not. I’ve made examples of what it can mean and not:

What it can mean
-Your entry can feature a past zone.
-Your entry can use the classic look.
-Your entry can represent a past event.
-Your entry can contain a past eggrobo.

What it does NOT mean
-It DOESN’T mean that you can’t use newer characters; you CAN use them.
-It DOESN’T mean that you can’t apply the newer colouring style; you CAN apply it.

I repeat, all it needs is something that can represent the classic era. It can be as minor as the TV power-up box. Or you can invent: if it’s in winter, just say that it’s in Ice Cap Zone, if it's someone’s drowning, just say that’s in Aquatic Ruins Zone. It’s not too different from a free-for-all contest!

            ::Categorizing participants
Like the previous contest, the same categorization rules will be applied.
Members of 15 years and younger will be grouped together and members of 16 years and older will be competing against themselves.

            ::Suggestions for entries
As said earlier, you can simply feature a past zone or event. You can draw a Sonic character and/or your own fancharacter exploring the depths of the Sandopolis Pyramid, rediscovering the treasures of the Hidden Palace, or just hanging on the beach of err… <_< >_> South Island! (See? )

            :: How to enter
1. Make an entry (Hehe, just in case )
2. Upload it to your personal deviantART account.
3. Use keywords like "Sonic Club Classic Contest" so people can do searches and find them
4. Specify your age in the comment on this deviation or your entry's description.
5. Drop a comment on this image with a link to you entry

Again, entries will be stored in a journal page where everyone can easily access it. Be sure to check back again for the link.

            :: Rules
1. You MUST be a Sonic Club member to participate; if you're not, and you'd like to be, simply drop a note to the club account requesting to join and we'll add you in as soon as possible.
2. Your entry must be Sonic related
3. Your entry can feature your fan-characters.
4. All material in your image must be original by you.***
5. Your entry must be made AFTER the launch of the contest. (No past work, please)
6. Entries must be cast in by September 6th
7. YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL THESE RULES
8. Do your best and have fun!

            :: Judging
Judging will be organized in a vote, each club member is allowed two votes for each category, but they may not vote on their own entry. A note will be sent out September 6th announcing that we will begin collecting votes, any votes cast in before September 6th or after September 19th will not be counted. Winners will be announced a little later. (Hopefully, the same day)

            :: Prizes
Rings will be awarded for entering, and even more for the people who win. More rewards will be added in the inventory. (Such as inking work, the re-opening of the Chao Avatar Factory now that I have time, and more icons. More details to come)
(below applies to each category)
1st Place: 75 rings
2nd Place: 50 rings
3rd Place: 40 rings
4th Place: 30 rings
5th Place: 25 rings

All participants will get 5 rings for, well, participation. Exception applies to the 5 winners of each category. (ie. First place winner receives 75 rings and not 80 (75 + 5).)

      Can I make two entries?
No, we'd like each deviant to only make or participate in one entry. You may change your entry if you feel like it.
      Why can't I use other people's material?
“Because it's ILLEGAL foo.”
      Can our entry be pixel sprites?
As long as it's 100% your own original work, then absolutly. No edited sprites please.

***: Of course, official fonts are allowed. As of june 26th, I permit the use of official game background, knowing that some people can't draw any. However, I highly reccomend that you draw one yourself! The sprites rule still applies though.
