Description LOL drug reference in the title
And Ralph's line "Me fail English, that's umpossible" is golden

But like with 'I'm with Stupid' a few good jokes does NOT excuse the cruelty in this episode

Let's outline the torture giving to Bart in this episode

Lisa tricks him into going outside to have kids laugh at him for his PJ's
His own father disregards him completely just because Lisa is suddenly better at Hockey than him
The one real thing he's good at on a academic level is taken away
Gets beaten up bullies for an half-ass reason
Gets teased by the other kids and even adults because Lisa saved him from said bullies
Accidently rips the head off his childhood favourite toy
Lisa uses said toy to psychology torture him

OK then, I am going to defend this episode, because I really like it.
1. Lisa is unlikeable - She defended Bart by attacking the bullies. ATTACKING THE BULLIES. She isn't that great in this episode, but she is nice especially at the end, at Bart is fighting back, and they are on an equal playing field.
2. Bart gets tortured - I wouldn't say that. Nobody is treated in the right for torturing him, so I really disagree with you on that. Also, there is a such thing as mean-spirited humour you know, I think Homer is funny in this episode, and unlike 'Boys of Bummer', they don't go too far with it and make Bart commit suicide or something. Even though everyone is hating on him, at least nobody is treated like they should be.
3. Homer is unlikeable - THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT. Homer makes Bart feel even more jealous, and this isn't out of character from Homer. He can get overly competitive. And this episode needs someone like that. He also isn't treated in the right. Marge keeps shouting at him for doing what he's doing. I find Homer's mean-spiritedness funny in this episode because 1. It's not treated as in the right 2. He's played as a cliché of just a character who's being overly competitive in a really stupid situation.

And then in the description you compare it to I'm With Stupid. Bullshit. In that episode, Patrick is treated as in the right, and they don't grow slowly away from each other. It also ends with Patrick throwing a final blow instead of them making up in the end.

Honestly, I understand how someone can not like the mean-spirited humour in the episode, but I really like the Bart and Lisa dynamic. At least they make up in the end. Now please debunk all of my points.

I personally found her annoying in that she thinks she has to be good at everything. That kind of over-achieving is something that personally bugs me when it comes to a character and it is at full display here, especially thinking her future career will go down the drain over one bad grade. And while Lisa is constantly portrayed as good at everything once Bart who is shown to have nothing to strive for throughout the show finds something he's good at Lisa takes that away to add to her already large list of talents. And you can't say that Lisa using the head of Bart's childhood toy to psychologically torment him wasn't cruel

While this episode isn't near the same level as 'Boys of Bummer' it was still against Bart throughout the entire time. As I said his one talent is outdone by someone who has all the talent in the world, tries to find a new one but fails, gets beaten up for it, then gets teased for being saved by Lisa, accidently destroys his childhood favourite toy and had used against him. The issue here is very one-sided and against Bart

In hindsight that's actually true I can agree with you there

I was thinking of the comparison that one character can't catch a break no matter what he does while the other gets praised off it

For me it depends on what how the mean-spirited humour is. There are times when the joke itself is well written and hilarious and times when the show thinks mean-spirited equals funny when there isn't a proper joke present. I see your point but to me the issue is too one-sided and against Bart

It's nice having a discussion, thanks

I'm glad you're taking this so well, and I just want to say that I think the intent of the episode was just to make Bart & Lisa get more and more out of hand. As for the toy being cruel thing, yes, but that was the main plot of Season 2's Bart vs. Thanksgiving! Maybe that was a callback saying "It's ironic because of that episode." I don't really see how people don't like classic Lisa, classic Homer & Bart are good for sure, but I think it's supposed to be Lisa finally achieves something that Bart is good at, but Bart can't accept that. I'm curious on your opinion on the Season 9 episode (which is barely talked about) "Bart Star", since it's kind of opposite of this episode, where Bart is treated too nicely by Homer, and Lisa's barely in it. And I'm glad you think that this episode is way better than 'Boys of Bummer'. I did feel for Bart in this episode, but I do like the ending. They make it out fine in the end, and if you agree with me on the Homer thing, than what was the problem with him in the first place?

"but I think it's supposed to be Lisa finally achieves something that Bart is good at" the problem with that is, as I said, Lisa is the highly achived sibling with intelligence and many talents while Bart has nothing to live for. Bart's never the one to outdo Lisa, just pulling pranks her but when it comes to talents Lisa has got him beat. The plot you descrided is good but to me isn't what's excuted in the episode as throughout the series Lisa is contsantly winning while Bart gets the short end of the stick and it continues so in the episode

Classic Lisa is hit n miss to me. Honestly Bart's difficulties makes him far more relatable, plus he's got personality and humour

I see what you're saying. Lisa is intellegent and nice, but she never gets appreciated for it. She has no friends, so she becomes part of a hockey team to get better at gym which is the only thing that she's not good at, and Bart is. I understand why that plot may seem bad to some people, but I like the comedy, the story, and the fact that it had a happy ending. You dislike this episode for legitimate reasons. I'm glad you're taking criticism well, but the fact that they tried to make a Bart get tortured episode with Lisa barely involved (Boys of Bummer), and a Lisa wants friends and acheives stuff with Bart barely involved (a very underhated episode called The Doh-cial Network), later, you can admit it's better than it used to be.

Yeah I love this line

To me this is one of those episodes where the comedy is well-done but the way story and characters were executed bothered me

I guess it sounds like a complete waste of a genuine past montage
