Description

It has been a long while since I have’yth done one of these illustrations for LEGO Knights Kingdom, but also the right moment to complete the colored-fan-drawings of the central four. This artwork is of none other than the purple-&-yellow knight of the Wolf himself, Danju the Wise (aka The Clever, aka The Wise Veteran).

Danju, the eldest of the big four, came from the Province of Aleden. He was the last in a long bloodline of knights who sported the wolf-emblem. He trained with and trained the other three knights (and other knights as well) to be great peacekeepers and soldiers of Morica. He also saw potential in the youngest knight of the group, Jayko. When the King mysteriously vanished, Danju suspected that the King’s advisor Vladek was behind the disappearance. After discovering the king’s whereabouts, his majesty sent the four knights on a quest to locate the legendary Heart of the Shield of Ages at the Citadel of Orlan. There, Danju past the second trial by exposing a trap that would’ve killed any of the knights. Danju also found a way to reason with the guardian wo guarded the heart of the shield. Danju would go on adventure with the knights again after Vladek’s defeat and escape, when they journeyed to Ankoria to put a halt to Vladek’s new plot. When Jayko became king, Danju continued to train knights.

Danju, like all the other characters, is likeable for his attributes. He is very wise, caring, doesn’t have control of matters, and will stand by his king and friends.

For the fan-art, I desired to take on a stained-glass approach and appearance to it, like I did for another picture. However, this was a more challenging task that I dreaded to do. Surprisingly, I drew it within one day, separate times (sketch then and colors later) but i managed to do so, and it turned out really amazing (uh… not to boast). Though, I am not satisfied with it entirely. One aspect that my sister pointed out was how the circle behind him should’ve been fully yellow in order to have him pop out more. Aside from that, I am glad that this turned out the way it did.
