I might as well say, R.I.P. It's certainly beyond me... how, although Violet's fate was the cruelest out of the kids, her actress managed to survive and live on for over 40 years after the movie was made! And that was an age when computer technology had yet to become prevalent!

Gotta love older effects, how they managed to convey things with their limitations and pull off their best before computer tech was invented

Hearing the news that she had passed had me feeling blue(no pun intended). I always liked Violet, and not because she turned into a blueberry-I just really liked her as a character, and I didn't think she deserved such a harsh punishment. (Sure, she was kinda loud, pushy, and didn't have the best manners, but she wasn't as ill-behaved as Veruca. I think she had the potential to be good, and I could even see her being friends with someone like Charlie.)Β
Anyway, excellent work here. Miss Nickerson will sorely be missed.Β

This is the most deep and sincere paragraph of Violet I have ever read, it actually is refreshing to see something like this.

I have to admit, yeah, her fate is probably the most cruelest... I actually have thought about it at times.... how it must've felt, being filled up, expanding while filled with juice- transforming into a common fruit... even with the human flesh, bone and guts, she still is now a giant food.....(that was grammatically awful). And how does she live on with life after that experience.... especially being reminded of it by a lot of things..Β Β  ...blueberries, rolling round things, the color blue.. not to mention her reputation of it. And that is if she doesn't have blue-face like the 2005 Violet.... speaking of which, that version must've felt more discomfort being bloated to a bigger size.

Anyway, of course, she could've and still can make a better choice, and be friends with Charlie.... (and maybe more than friends )

Thanks, and she will be... hopefully you'll feel better soon

Yeah, I know it was probably intended in the original book to be a quirky and odd fantastical fantasy situation, but when you really think about it(along with the other fates of the kids), it kind of has a horror element to it, especially in the '05 movie with the scary music when she's turning violet and swelling up. I always hoped that Violet in this film lived, she deserved a second chance.Β

Yeah, it sort of does....

I have to admit, after watching the 77 like, for the first time in a long time, when I was younger (i remember only the ending from long before that), I didn't want to watch it because of that, mostly because of Violet...Β  and it is not just the trauam the kids were in, but... I am a bit sensitive of a person. I didn't even want to watch the Johnny depp version because so... though I eventually did watch the old one again and the new one, and was okay with it... kind of actually got into drawing a lot of Wonka art/candy factory artwork and such...Β Β Β  and yeah, I guess more comfortable with Violet being a giant blueberry

....still, I feel a bit bad now for drawing Swelled-up Violet/Blueberry pictures (in general as well)...

Hopefully they all lived, and she has her second chance (and maybe ends up with Charlie in the future)

A classic character who learned her lesson the hard way but learned it humorously nonetheless.Β  Mrs. Nickerson will be missed.

It's a shame that too many people have exploited her character's blueberry fate as fetish fuel on DeviantArt. Β Β I hope this news makes them stop for at least a while, if not permanently.

YeahP

Oh totally.... it does kind effect one's viewing/thoughts on her misfortune (especially with the 2005 transformation). That would be nice, but unlikely...Β  people have little integrity now

yep and they have no soul to respect and they mock people who do have integrity and try to weaponize it against them etc. it will never entirely go away with the lot and to try and tell them otherwise will only get you a insult and a block to boot with your post struck down hidden by the owner or flagged as spam.Β

One can only hope on that front but sadly this will not stop them at all and to try otherwise would only get you a snarky comment for a reply and a block so you can’t defend yourself. Sad reality there best that you do a call out and disable the comments before hand so they can’t reply snarky etc.
