SonicClone — Why if it isn't Star-Prince

Description I saw "Guardians of the Galaxy" almost a week ago, and... it was freaking cool and fun movie! It was different from other Marvel Cinematic Universe films, and it's own feel and pacing helped the feature stand out.

Anyway, unless you know the actors behind the characters (Peter Quill/Star-Lord and Nova Policeman Rhomann Dey), you may not get the joke. Star-Lord is played by Chris Pratt in the live-action film, but he also voiced a character in an animated film released earlier in 2014, "The Lego Movie" as Emmet Brickowski. Rey's actor is John C. Reilly, who voiced the title character in the 2012 aracde-&-character-study comedy "Wreck-it Ralph".

The art was done with pencil and markers, with the background being painted on the computer. As you can see, i am having a fun time testing out the glare/light effects.  Anyway, the characters may have mirror face problems.

Marvel, Disney, Lego, and Warner Bros.
Art by I'll draw it because no one else will.

Wreck-It Ralph in the Nova Corps... how equally humorous yet out-of-place as when he infiltrated Hero's Duty. X3

... Oh, and Rocket is best Guardian.

Oh....oh my god. That COMPLETELY went over my head I completely forgot Chris was in The Lego Movie. That just made my day.

In fact I think most of the cast was in an animated movie at one point. John C. Reilly was in Ralph and 9, Glen Close was in Tarzan, Zoe Saldana was in Avatar as motion capture and Vin Diesel was the Iron Giant

It's too bad Dave Bautista and Bradley Cooper aren't in any other animated movies, though... Everything else on Dave's resume consists of staged wrestling crap, and Bradley mostly sticks to live-action comedies and dramas.

Indeed. I thought for sure Bradley was in something but I was wrong.

Glad to have made your day in a very cool way

Oh yes totallies ; ) . I have not seen 9, so that would explain why I forget that it's part of John C's filmography. Oh, I didn't know Glen was in Tarzan... in fact, I remembered that it was her after I saw the film. She was also in Hoodwinked.

Celestial-Rainstorm In reply to SonicClone [2014-08-19 04:36:59 +0000 UTC]

Glen played Kala, the mama gorilla. And 9 is a gorgeous film, I'd recommend it just for the beautiful cinematography.

Alright

Well... it does look interesting and it's cool to have PG-13 animated films stand out from the rest and show that animation is not a genre. However, I have avoided it because of the scary imagery.

Well, its not too incredibly scary. And I usually avoid horror films.

I still snickered when Mr. Space Parole Officer came onscreen. Though I was also a teensy bit disappointed on two counts. One was his exclusion from the fight sequences, until I remembered the last time he was given a space gun (Hero's Duty). And the other was some of his language. Idk, it kind of hurt to hear Wreck-it Ralph's voice deliver words like "a-hole" and . . . anyway, that's just me being picky. The whole movie kicked butt, and I can't wait for the DVD bonus features!

MikeBennett1980 In reply to DisneyThorn92 [2015-05-08 05:04:55 +0000 UTC]

The vulgar language is the only thing that bothers me about the movie. If it was aimed at adults, that would be one thing, but this movie was aimed at the family audience, which to me, using language like "a-hole", "d***", "bat-s***", etc., is just not acceptable for a movie that young children may see, IMHO. But it is a great movie overall.
