Original: Character Development Meme by kamakruApol: ... I have nothing to say. Indeah does my writing for me... go for it sis.
Indeah: I have something to say! Okay, as mentioned above Sarah was just basically a character to give to Apol when, as kids, we use to play "Sonic" (as in the imaginary game not the video game). Back then, we were very set on making every character be matched with SOMEONE (I know... little match makers). So, Tails needed someone so we created Sarah. She didn't have a set personality and all we can really remember of her is that she screamed a lot and broke Tails' stuff... I know, and they fall in love? We also had this other fox that looked like Sarah... but she was pink and named Julie... which was Sarah's arch nemesis but... I don't know what happened to her... oh well. Here's SARAH!
Her new design took a long time to come up with but we're very satisfied with the result.

yeah lolz my mom was going in there every week for awhile to get a new door (which we actually never ended up getting) so me and my brother were bored so we were pretending we were us, and imagined the sonic characters everywhere XD bahaha and you welcome

Most artist I know that have drawn their own fan character when they were young turn out to be recolors of the characters from what they've seen and yet a very long time later they turn out different in many ways. I love the progress that you've made with this character specially since she is completely different from the first design!

Yeah--we were around 7 years old when we first made our characters so it makes sense that they would have changed 11 years later hahaha.

Hehe, kind of funny because Sarah is probably my favorite character from SonicFF. Really interesting to see how she started out. XD Wow...I think the only thing that stayed the same about her was her hair color! XD

LoL that is the only thing that stayed the same. We wanted her hair black but we did want the majority of her to be green, so we searched for an animal that had a stripe down it's back (besides a skunk) and found the least weasel. LoL, it was perfect for her

Just out of curiosity, how did you guys come up with her personality? Just brainstorming or did you find inspiration from a source?

Mostly brainstorming.
We thought of what would be the point of the character... how they would contribute to the story or to the "team" they were joining. With Sarah, her old personality was destructive and loud... annoying... no helpful at all. So we decided to make her super smart but still a little destructive due to her enthusiasm. Since Tails already had an knack with machinery, we just wanted to make her brain witty and her mind intelligent, thus an eidetic memory. A nice fill so we wouldn't have a repeat of Tails--then, since she was living with Faith--we needed someone organize, motivated, filled with initiative but young enough where she needed to be taken care of. And that's where Sarah's personality came from.

Aww, you used to play Sonic together? That's cute. My brother and I used to play with stuffed animals and pretended they had superpowers, they lived in a big ole mansion (Our bunkbeds, XD.), and they had huge adventures and missions to save the world.
Anyway, back to Sarah. Wow, huge change, huh? She used to break Tails' stuff and they fell in love? Funny. Lots of changes were made. Good job!
