[I dont know how much time I said that, but thumbnail makes it look plain
]Surprise, surprise! .. A non-related to Sonic art
Sorry if you watched this gallery just for Sonic Art, but I really felt like drawing him for a reason. What I find weird is that I don't know a thing about him... I don't even know what species he is (I'm guessing he's a cat because of those pointy teeth he has.. then again, those flapping ears makes me think he's a dog o.o;;; )
Anyway, while I really like the lining and the colouring of the character here, the background is another story...
I was going to put some kind of crazy effect but I noticed that I always did that when there's only one character in a pic.. So I tried doing a quick "painting" .. I failed of course. Next time, I'll spend more than 15 minutes
(And hope it'll be better o.o; )Anyway, hope you like it! ^^

Lucky you, you get to be the one person in all of dA with a klonoa picture with my comment and a favorite! Basicaly this goes for every Klonoa picture and I would say this to every one, Klonoa for the PS1 was good. Possibly the best game i had ever played until maybe WoW, but those 2 games you really can't compare. Klonoa for the ps2 was OH so much worse, the ps1 story, and just the whole setting and theme of it kicked ass.

Cool. Klonoa. I'm not a big fan of him, but I like him. I asked someone what he was and they said he might just be a madeup character, not like any real kind of animal. Or a mix or something. I dunno. x_x

I only have to real complaints here, the first one is that Klona looks too black to see any of the lighting on him. I'm very much positive that's not the case for him in the games. The second one prolly has a reason to it, due to my lack of Klona knowledge... what that red thing on the other side of his body... I'm talking about the red thing we see between his legs....

And about the layer count, you're pretty much right. 20-or-so layers seems like an acceptable number (better than the 82 it has XP). Finally.. The black part.. yes... I forgot to shade it XP;;; Actually, I did. But not completly. I was probably too tired to shade highlights

This is both cute and cool. I barely know about Kloloa, and yet he looks cool.

Dude.. 81 layers! Well I haven't counted the number of layers I use, so whatever XD
Back to the pic! In my opinion, the reason why the background and character don't go so well together is the line structure. You have thick visible black lines on the character and blurry colors without lineart in the background.
I'd suggest that you try shading differently because the highlights in this type of soft shading make things look metallic, which I suppose isn't the case, right?
