Katie: Ember! It's ok. This is Shadow.
Ember: Sh-shadow? *blushes; hangs her head in shame* I'm sorry. I did not know it was him. *glances up at him* Sorry for threatening you...I jump to conclusions very quickly....

Ember: *circles around him and sniffs him; lays next to him* (mind talks to Katie: I think he could be my second rider.)
Katie: (mind talks: Really?) *looks at Shadow* Do you mind if I show you something?

Rose: (Mind talk: You do relize that I can hear your conversations right? Dont ask me how, but I can. If you plan on flying, do not go above 1,000,000 feet. 1 million is shadow's stopping point.)

Ember: *wags her tail; picks up Shadow with her tail and puts him on her back*
Katie: *jumps into the saddle; glances back at him* You better hold on, buddy!
Ember: *gets excited; takes off swiftly*

Rose: You know, i just thought of something that's really ironic.

Katie: *looks at Rose; tilts her head* Tell me.

Rose: I got bit during a vampire hunter mission. I was a vampire hunter, and now look at me! *Laughs*

Katie: *laughs* That is ironic!
Ember: (thinks: Hm...Shadow does seem to enjoy this too much. I know what to do!) *smirks; spots a cavern just behind a distant waterfall; speeds up and quickly dives through the water into the cavern*
(The cavern leads to Katie's secret place. Only she and Ember know how to get there. The entrance magically gets blocked off when either of them enters the cavern)

Rose: although, now that I think about it, it may give me the edge we need. I'll have enhanced strength and speed, so i wont need to rely on weapons, I'll be on the same schedul as other vampires, and now i don't need to worry about being bit!

Katie: That's cool. But, uh, Rose? I'm gonna have to ask you to wait here. Em wants to show Shads my "secret place" and I'll only let certain people come here.

Katie: Thanks. *eyes turn pink; giggles and grabs shadow's hand; starts running* C'mon, Shads!

Shadow Woa! *Is jerked forward, then starts running with you, blushing ever so slightly* were are we going?

Katie: *giggles; blushes slightly* You'll see. Now hurry up, slowpoke! It's almost time! *running a bit faster*

Shadow: *Runs along with her*

Katie: *sees the end of the cavern; slows down a bit* We're almost there. We just have to walk around another waterfall. I discovered this place about a year ago. It seems...magical! *walks around the waterfall; sort of dragging him along*
(They enter a large clearing that is tightly encircled by trees. Many colorful crystal flowers are growing and at the base of the waterfall is a large clear pond. A little cabin is seen a little ways away from the waterfall. The light seems to make everything sparkle or light up)

Katie: Impressed, I see. *giggles; eyes turn back to blue; walks ember to the cabin; takes off her saddle and puts it on a hook; takes her to a dragon stable behind the cabin with three empty stalls*
Ember: *lays down in the middle stall; puffs a cloud of smoke*
Katie: *smiles and pats her head*

Shadow: How long have you lived here?

Katie: Hm...about a month. I actually found this place a year ago, but I never decided to make this my home until recently. For my whole life, I.....I never had a home. My parents were killed when I was 2 and everyone I would meet would either run me off or just try to beat me up. I also got attacked by this robot that looked similar to that Sonic fellow and it left me with this. *pulls her hair away from her left eye, revealing a scar; her left eye is milky blue color*

Katie: So now I'm halfway blind. I've gotten used to it now. And it also made my other senses better, especially my hearing. *walks over to the pond and takes off her boots; sticks her feet in the water* So...Rose told me that you weren't too find of dragons.

Katie: Hm...*gasps; smiles* Come with me! *runs into the cabin*

Katie: *walks into a nursery-like room; walks to a corner that has a basket with a big bundle of blankets; sits next to it* Come look, Shads. *moves some of the blankets to reveal a few large different colored eggs; puts a purple egg in her lap*

Shadow: Are these dragon eggs?

Katie: Yep! Em found their nests abandoned, so we just...took them in. I've discovered that a dragon only hatches when it's future rider makes contact with the egg. It happened with me. *giggles; ears twitch in a way that Shadow thinks is cute*

Shadow: *blushes ever so slightly* May I see the egg?

Katie: Sure. *hands him the purple egg that she was holding*

*The egg begins to hatch when Shadow grabs it and puts it in his lap*

Katie: *gasps and has a big smile on her face*
(Soon a little purple dragon hatches from the egg. It's curled up on his lap)
Katie: Oh, it's so cute! Hm, let me check something with it.

Shadow: Alright. *genteelly lifts up the dragon and gives it to you*

Katie: *takes it and pets it lightly; checks its snout and its wings; smiles and scratches under it's ear* Your new dragon is a female.

Shadow: *nods* We should probably go back to Rose, considering we've been in here for a couple hours, the sun will be coming up soon.

Katie: Alright. *hands the dragoness baby back to him* You can take her home if you'd like. But if you need help, I could stay with you and help with the newborn.

Shadow: That would be fantastic acctually, I know nothing about raising dragons.

Katie: *giggles; ears twitch* It's been a while since I've taken care of a baby dragon, so I'm a bit outta practice. But don't worry, I have something to refresh my memory. Hang on a sec...*goes to her bedroom for a minute; gets her backpack and puts a few books and other things in it; puts it on and walks outside with him* So will this place be our little "hiding place"?

Ember: *wakes up and looks around; jumps up quickly and runs to her side*
Katie: Now c'mon. *enters the caverns with them; her eyes and the patterns on her gloves and boots start to glow*

Shadow: *gets on ember, carrying the small dragon*

Katie: *leads them out of the cavern; looks around* Rose?

Rose: *Is a little further than her original position, petting a teenage dragon that has the same exact color scheme as rose herself*

Katie: Hey, Rose! *runs over to her; notices the dragon; hold her hand out to let it sniff her* Who is this?

Rose; ?, oh, this is a dragon. She just walked up to me and started rubbing against me. I plan on naming her Ruby.
