Sure, hun.
As far as advice goes, it's really all about using thin lines, not being afraid to blur your image a bit - I find a 1 or 2 from the Gaussian blur to suit the job pretty well, and then saving the image in .jpg format for the authentic, fuzzy appearance.
Hope that was of a little help..there's not too much difference than just drawing a regular picture.

Question.
Why did you make the dimensions 1034x604 rather than 1280x720?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
SonicS29 In reply to ShikaUninspired [2012-10-12 21:54:40 +0000 UTC]
Well for one, I wanted a comfortable size to work on. The smaller the better.
And having it look less realistic makes it harder to assume it's stolen or something.

True.
Did you draw/color this all in one project or did you draw the lineart else where and then color it and resize and so on?

It's a lot easier to understand and it's free to download, but it doesn't come with nearly as many things as Photoshop does.
It's great for what it is, however.
And it does have layers.

What brush size were you working with?

SonicS29 In reply to ShikaUninspired [2012-10-13 13:51:47 +0000 UTC]
I did the entire lineart with 1 point line tool.
For coloring, and brush goes so long as you're staying in lines.~

It takes a lot of work to get decent at Photoshop, hun. It's perfectly fine if you don't know every trick yet; you're still doing wonderfully.
It was very clean, and colored splendidly.~

SonicS29 In reply to ShikaUninspired [2012-10-14 02:47:23 +0000 UTC]
I haven't a copy of Photoshop to use, I'm afraid.
Paint.NET and MSN Paint are my only utensils, outside of traditional means.

ShikaUninspired In reply to SonicS29 [2012-10-14 20:06:25 +0000 UTC]
You could probably find a copy.
Are they easy to use?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
SonicS29 In reply to ShikaUninspired [2012-10-14 21:07:21 +0000 UTC]
Paint.NET takes a few minutes to learn, but once you do, it's the easiest thing in the world.
MS paint itself if just: open it up. Done.
They don't do pretty line-work like Sai or PS, but they're great for the zero-dollar price they carry.

That's true. I can't figure out how to do lineart. Mine always seems to come out too skinny, or too thick. That, or the lines seem really grayed out when colored...any tips?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
SonicS29 In reply to ShikaUninspired [2012-10-15 17:09:15 +0000 UTC]
Well, for thin line art, you can always make a copy of that layer and merge the two together. That will darken everything; and it can make it a bit wider if you move it just a pinch before merging.
I'm sure Photoshop has a menu where you can customize the perfect stroke size for lines somewhere.

What canvas size and and stroke size do you usually use?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
SonicS29 In reply to ShikaUninspired [2012-10-15 17:17:33 +0000 UTC]
On Paint.NET the canvas is always 800x600 standard unless I bother changing it. So normally I start from there.
And since Paint.NET doesn't do much customizing brush sizes, I just always used the very smallest one.
