Well, I guess its fine if you want to like the design. I wont bash you for it, just know that their are people out their who have very good reasons for why they feel the design is bad. I don't like it because it tries to hard to deviate from Sonics design to much that it doesn't even look like him anymore.Β

The deviation was meant to stray from the cartoony design of his games...
But CLEARLY, that didn't work seeing as how it's "not their sonic" as people often say when sonic goes through an identity crisis.

I know the artwork is from the movie, but it is done much better cause he doesn't look like a cartoonish/realistic cgi nightmare like some of those other cartoonish/realistic movies like Alvin and the Chipmunks, or Yogi Bear, or Smurfs, were.Β
Ok, first off, theirs a difference when these people criticized the games from criticizing the design of him in the movie. People are complaining that it hardly looks like Sonic. They changed quite a bit of it that it doesn't look like Sonic as I have stated in the previous comment. I mean, look what Warner Bros did when it came to the Detective Pikachu movie. Yea, sure, some of the designs looked a bit unusual in Live-action,Β but they didn't try to make them different from the video game counterpart. It's not that hard to do, especially since one of the companies they hired to do the cgi effects in the Sonic movie (MPC, Moving Pictures Company) also did the effects for Detective Pikachu.
Umm, how is it hurting me? I'm glad they are changing the design.Β
Also, what did you use Gangsters Paradise for? are you saying what you said is from the song, cause I never heard the whole song before.Β

Just because they are fictional, doesn't negate the fact that they stuck with the original designs instead of trying to make them look more realistic then they need to be.Β

I saw a 2d cartoonist use a 2d sonic to replace the "abomination" that is the film's sonic, AND IT CLASHES SO MUCH, that I actually PREFERRED the realist approach...
And if paramount ever reveals the redesign, FOR THE LOVE OF MOBIUS, stay away from the video game look! Ditch the cartoon gloves! Keep the separate sockets and make the eyes big, it's not that hard to meet middle ground! I want people to know it's sonic without me TELLING them it's sonic!

I actually PLAYED most of the sonic games! I played sonic heroes, secret rings, sonic riders, black knight, TWO versions of sonic unleashed, sonic colors, sonic generations, sonic mania, AND sonic forces!

well i think the first three are meant to be the paper BOOK trilogy, while sticker star and color splash are part of a paper CRAFT trilogy that's missing the third and final game...(unless paper jam was supposed to be just that...)
