This crazy idea started over a year ago, when I was able to meet Ian Flynn himself at HeroesCon. He told me that the recent Shadow Fall arc in the Archie Sonic comics was originally going to have Black Doom and Mephiles the Dark as the antagonists, but Sega scrapped the idea. However, I was so in love with the idea I couldn't get it out of my head. I thought to myself, "What if we used this story for Lost Hedgehog Tales?". I wanted to find a way to make it look convincing, and then it hit me, what better way to bring this idea to life than to combine the talents of a skilled Archie fan and someone who officially works there? Inspired by the movie poster to the film "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'", a film I thoroughly enjoyed (though I preferred the Japanese title "Revival of 'F'"), I had the legendary draw and ink this out, and himself did the colors. Seriously, you both did an awesome job, I can't thank you enough. I hope everyone enjoys this product of my craziness, and I really hope this idea makes it into Lost Hedgehog Tales.Sketched/Inked by

Heh, maybe he was able to evolve himself via the Black Arms' mastery of Chaos Control. Or he changes form to become Sonic's shadow instead of Shadow's.

Wow, that was fast! Either Herms coloured this during his lunch break or he has a lot of time to spare for DA commissions. I'm as delighted as you are with how well this turned out. Honestly, when you commissioned me to draw this, it was only intended as an inked piece, so I made it at medium resolution with heavy emphasis on blacks. If you told me in advance that you wanted Herms to colour it, I would have doubled the image size and allocated more white space. Indeed, I notice that the full resolution is more than twice that at which I inked it. Still, I'm pleased Herms managed to decipher the intertwining lines well enough to paint the purple energy. Everything about this looks great. It's an honour to have Matt Herms colour my artwork. And an even greater honour to have someone else pay for it.
So now that you've seen your idea given form, do you plan on developing it further with a story, or are you just pitching this concept for Lost Hedgehog Tales?
PS. I noticed a small error: The missiles underneath Omega's miniguns are supposed to be red, not grey.
