Description
As I photographed the scene at Mornon Row as the sun was rising, a buffalo walked right in front of the barn. It was quite a surprise for me.Related content

Thank you. I was just processing some prints today from my own western vacation this summer, and then I saw this. You are so fortunate to capture this moment. The scenery is breathtaking (not unexpected where you are) and your creature by happenstance makes this truly magical.

Are you near a state/national park? I have no idea where Mormon Row is. Or does the owner of the property have bison?

Yes, this near the Grand Teton National Park. The bison are wild, they roam where they can.

Where they can is right. I could go on for pages about the injustice that is the Montana cattle ranchers and the corrupt government that kills buffalo for a problem that they don't even cause.

Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, USA. Mormon Row Historic District is a line of historic homesteads along the Jackson-Moran Road near the Southeast corner of the park.
Stunning place, the photographer did an amazing job at capturing it's majestic beauty. The bison are very numbered throughout Grand Teton & Yellowstone parks that after the 10th herd you come across you quit stopping to photograph them lol

Okay, I've been to Grand Teton, but I was like, 11 last time I was there. I am well aware of the bison herds in the area. My folks own a bison ranch, so I'm always asking about them when I see them in pictures.

Goodness. It's weird that I can recognize that this was in the Tetons just by the mountain range behind the barn. We just got back from a trip there.

It was absolutely fantastic. I live in the Midwest so it's such a change in scenery, and we managed to have fantastic weather at the same time. We also visited Yellowstone and got to see a lot of the different geysers, which was a real treat.
