Description The trees are not mourning over their own deaths, they are mourning over yours. Do not kill which keeps you alive. After the death of the earth, there can never be a rebirth.
--------------

18"x24"
oil

8 hours.

i don't think anyone has noticed yet, or atleast no one has mentioned it, but there are buildings such as skyscrapers and smoke stacks in the background.

im sorry this took so long, its just that this painting never really seemed to attach itself to me like all my others, so i never really wanted to go back to it. but im glad it's done, my dad likes it

EDIT: i just HAD to remove those dust spots.

I like how you illustrate sort of a change of seasons, but also a change with pollution . . . contamination. It ruins the perfect world.

So beautiful and so apocalyptic. . .very prohpetic. I love this, the colour is soft, yet the message is harsh.

Thought provoking & utterly beautiful in its contrasts as well as conveying a message we would all do well to heed. I could look at this for hours. Thanks for sharing this wonderful work

interesting idea! but what i dont like is that the borders are that straight. i think it would look better if you made them a smoother, you know what i mean?
anyway, i think it's a nice painting. good job

I love the way the change is in this, from fall to...dead.
It's very beautiful, if a bit surreal.

it's funny, i've drawn something similar to this. i've always loved the concept of the trees in different seasons or times, and seeing how they weather all change and come out victorious.

however, there is one difference between mine and yours: yours is waaay better. really nice job with this, i love this painting. keep up the hard work.

I love the description and the painting~

I also love how you did the background... it feels cloudy and soft, but with a hidden tint of remorse... Like mixed feelings in a cooking pot...

Darn you tree-destroying people! Stop mowing down the trees! You're gonna kill us in the end!!

not pass up the oppurtunity to tell you that
this is museum-caliber art.

This is spectacular and I could only hope
of making something like this. More power

wow its absolutely beautiful... the colours are beautiful... and i love the story/theme... i got it before reading it ^_^

it is very sad what we are doing to out planet. someone really needs to do something about it. and when i am all powerful and have the entire world brainwashed i will fix it. but until that day, sadly, i cant see much being done.

i think that the low transparency of those buildings is perfect. you have to be looking for them to see them, almost. its like your depicting a place that truly transcends industrialization, while not unaware of it's existence. it's like the best place in the world to run away from the world. such beautiful colors and concept. im definitely faving this

i love the idea. a nice touch of surrealism. for the buildings in the back (i see them), i would suggest putting in some highlights around the edges bring out their image more. i like the color choice a lot. very nice work.

sonne22 In reply to BronzeRocket [2004-12-22 00:42:28 +0000 UTC]

im glad you like it thank you for the tip for the buildings i see now how that would help it out a little more...but i didn't want them to really be part of the painting..just sort of..transparent. but i'm sure you already knew that i don't get much constructive critisism around here very often, so it is appreciated.

This is absolutely gorgeous! The color grabs you immediately and then you start to notice the detail in the trees. For something that you didn't feel really attached to, you sure did infuse a lot of emotion into it. Great job!

thank you. im glad to see you like it. my school uses so much paper for no reason, it makes me sad.

oh my god...i knew a person that raised cats just to let them loose and hunt them down. i can't believe this society tat has been created.

sorry for rambling..just had to get it off my chest. thank you again for the favorite

No problem! I have a tendency to ramble at times as well. That's really sad that someone would kill an animal for the simple sake of killing something.
