I have never seen a shot like this on a wild bird before. Just unbelievably amazing. How privileged were you to have a raptor in your own yard and so close?

Although raptors are widely regarded as pests, they are gorgeous birds, and this image shows clearly enhances their beauty. This is simply a stunning capture. As much as I hate to see hawks preying on songbirds, I can't help but marvel at their beauty. Outstanding capture!

aww how can any one think these as pests.. they are soo beautiful!! besides this little beauty was a juvenile and was having a hard time catching anything specially with me following her around for a wee while

They are definitely gorgeous. I had a female juvenile Cooper's Hawk perched on the patio last winter, and it was possible to get very close and peer at her through the window. She was a beauty.

this young one let me and hubby about a 1.5m and still didnt move and was sitting funny, making me think she was injured so i kept eye on her for the few hours she flew quite well making me happy

That's amazing. Most of the hawks in my area won't let people get nearly that close. You were given a special treat, that's for sure!
