Kid's usually do things without any worries. They often explore with their unlimited imagination and create whatever they want. We call it a mess, but for them it's fun. They enjoy doing it, and that's my point. They don't think about the perfect lines, well-defined objects, and etc. They just grab a crayon and do it.

Compared to the girl, she tries to draw it "perfectly" just as she imagined. If things don't go well, she will get frustrated. This might lead her to becoming a perfectionist and will criticize herself more. "Perfect" has no place in art, that's what I believe. It's all pure creativity and imagination.

The kid represents the "childlike spirit" and "dreams" we once had when we were kids, something that usually fades in time as we grow older. The girl's perfectionism represents the responsibilities, burdens, and problems we face. In other worlds, reality. Once we are faced with reality, we have to take it seriously.

But when was the last time you were truly happy?

Whew! I am finalllllllyyy done with this!! I really enjoyed drawing this piece because I relate to this so much. I started drawing because I enjoyed it, but one time I lost passion with it because I was faced with my parent's financial problems and my insecurities coming to me. I thought that I have no future in art and that I sucked at it.

How can I improve in art? Why do I suck? I can never improve.
These were usually my thoughts.

Along with my family's financial situation, I... lost fun with it. I didn't enjoy it as much I could before.

But now I'm back and I want to make my childhood dream possible.
