ok, made this in under 48 hours for the RPGDX 48 hour RPG making jamthe theme was 'LOFI' which I interpreted in the gameplay, I tried to include the bare minimum for an RPG and this is what came out of it.
I originally wanted to make a more traditional rpg but once I got this in my head it was too fun not to do, though I dont really think its too fun to play, but maybe some people will like it, I dont know
oh, and before anyone asks the 3D in this flash is powered by papervision.

It was most amusing and very well executed, I congratulate you.
I did find this thanks to the Sankaku Complex and, from reading the article and some of its references, I don't fully agree with the comparison since, supposedly, in Final Fantasy XIII you get healed after every battle, which makes it more of a movie than a game and which implies that it will be easier than this game unless you fight creatures far stronger than you all the time.
Note: It's quite easy to level up by either going left at the beginning (automatic) or pressing left and right at the same time near a checkpoint for healing (manual).

It's awesome, but I found a cheat at the beginning!
Right at the beginning, all you have to do is move left into the wall. Since you are on a checkpoint, every time you encounter an enemy you instantly regain any HP you lost, and you still get the experience. All you have to do is put a book on the left arrow key, go take a nap somewhere, come back and walk through the entire game without a problem!
Yes, perhaps I wasted my life figuring this out, but it was worth it!

you know this is a weird game to play, but never the less it's amusing in it's own way. although what's with the story script in the background, as seems it a little interesting there.

This is pure genius. And wow, I've only made it to level 61, and thought I was bored and needed something to do. I feel much better, seeing a couple other people's levels. o.o

amazing!!! most perfect rpg i ever played!! totally linear!! no way to get lost (i hated it!!) and the plot full of fun, mystical creatures no one knows where the hell it cames.. crazy elf names!! shapechanging last battles, love the "he is the last boss!!... no im not.... he is the last boss!!" YOU'RE THE MAN!!!

This is a nice little game, I made sure to get to level 36 before going past the first segment.
I liked the story, it was well writen.

Yay .... lvl 74... 10794 HP...you could make a bigger story and relate the graphics/animation/effects of the game side with the story side... that would give it a nice touch.
