Sophie picked up her little bag and went to leave the house preparing for the shouts of “hey Mrs Tiggy -winkle, don’t be so prickly or don’t live in a hedge, hog?”

It had started about a week ago when after walking home through the park she had watched a hedgehog crawl along the floor and wondered how it coped with all those prickles. When she woke the next day her ears had moved and her hair was a ball of freshly grown spikes which she found out as they had torn her pillow to shreds and she caught her finger on one.

Through the day her back swelled spouting more and her eyes grew wider nose became a snout and she grew fur everywhere. Clothes became a struggle but she managed to customise some basic dresses with draw strings although that became harder as her hands and feet became fur covered paws and so here she was more hedgehog than human still for reasons she couldn’t understand why
