This particular picture was. I had no other references for Cliffhanger, and I wanted to make her look as though she was a part of the mission. She's come a long way, and as of now, I'm working on a story to fit her background. She's not been a very public character, as I've kept a lot of her information to myself and have debated ever since her creation how to develop her. Pretty mysterious to DA, and I've always wanted that to change, but I'm not a very good writer. c:

There's a prototype design of what I think might be an early loadout of Soap's from Cliffhanger in the MW2 artbook, although I'm working on a theory that it might be Roach. There's some scans on the CoDWiki, somewhere.

But yeah, seems pretty cool regardless.

Women aren't allowed in frontline combat roles, but there are female pilots like Pelayo, Valkyrie-6, and the FCO from Warhammer, the AC-130 that supports Metal in Scorched Earth. Currently the only SF unit that recruits women is the UK's SRR (Special Reconnaissance Regiment), although the US Army are currently running a program to make a unit of female-only soldiers.
