i can see why you would not be exactly pleased with this, the pose makes the proportions seem wonky

I definitely am seeing that. On top of this, there is not a lot of colour variation, and the whole thing looks a bit too flat because of this.
The work isn't bad, just not the usual standard and so stands out a bit more due to that.
