Make sure you think in 3D! you should be able to explain all the main shapes with volume, this is how you will trick the eye of the viewer into thinking it is real

wonderful tutorial! it's really helped me! though im wondering, have u made any tutorials about how to color clouds when they look more like a flat bed? (i.e. stratus clouds, especially from an above view). if not, do u know any that u might direct me to? thank you in advance

Personally I would just save a ton of reference photos from the internet into a folder and study those, even better is sped up video, this shows the form of the cloud in action, try searching youtube for that! I hope this helps

It's good, but I would like to know more about how to sketch good-looking clouds of different shapes.
What affect the clouds shape? What kids of clouds appear in what weather? How do they look from below? And how do they look from above? (:

You ask some good questions, what I've tried to show in this tutorial is the fact that clouds have a huge amount of volume inside them that needs to be considered to get them right, once you see past the misty blurry effect I hope you can see that actually the key to getting them right is understand this volume. You will be able to draw them from any angle once you understand these volumetric forms. Good Luck!

That is true when you draw cumulus and similar clouds, but I also want to learn how to do more varied clouds like Cirrus, Cirrocumulus and Altostratus. It is hard to make those look good since they are not as poffy-floffy. Do you have any tips on this?

I don't but it sounds like you already know what you want to achieve which means you should be able to work this one out no problem! What you need to do is get some reference photos of the clouds you describe and do some "Reverse Engineering", watch a video of the clouds in mention sped up to understand how their form works in volume. I hope that helps!

The result is really cool! It is hard to decide without reference of course that were are the deeper and lighter shades goes.
